I’ve been asked to design a fair number of logos for fire departments, but this is by far my favorite. I drew this intense devil holding a hose and tools coming out of a Maltese cross for a fire station in NY.

Discraft
Description:
One of my favorite recent projects involved creating a series of labels for these disc golf frisbees by Discraft for their Halloween catalog. We took their famous Bee mascot, and drew him in the likeness of famous movie monsters, like Leatherface and Jason from Friday the 13th. We also created a one-color foil version too.

The Lost Arcade
Description:
Fun text design I created for The Lost Arcade, a website specializing in retro arcade games. We wanted something that looked hand-drawn, and looked like it could be printed on the cabinet of an old game.

Cryptivo Games
Description:
One of my favorite projects from last year: a t-shirt illustration for Cryptivo Games’ hit The Universim, a really cool world building game. If you’ve ever played the game before, you’ll recognize these cute little spherical people that are the inhabitants of the world you build. It was challenging to give the characters emotion and energy without using mouths (not to mention feet!). The illustration was used for a t-shirt and poster for the Gamescom conference.
Description:
The design was for apparel and a vehicle wrap for the russefeiring tradition. If you haven’t heard of it, basically russefeiring involves an entire class of Norwegian students renting a bus (a Russebuss), painting every inch of it with really cool street art, and then partying in it night and day for an entire month during graduation. The different classes wear their designs ever where they go as they clash with rival classes. I’ve done a bunch of these now, and really enjoy it.

Ancient Future
Description:
Here’s something fun I created for a client of mine for his new album called Ancient Future. He wanted the members drawn as caricatures in a trippy garden.

Cyborg Leprechaun fire-fighter I created for a St. Patrick’s day t-shirt template I illustrated for fire departments and t-shirt shops to license to celebrate their Irish Pride!
I try to design one of these each year, and I had a lot of fun with this one, trying to approach it differently by making the Leprechaun into a cyborg. From the future? Only time will tell.

Chrome Candy
Description:
Skull logo design I illustrated for this cool company called Chrome Candy that manufactures custom handles for pinball machines, and other cool arcade parts. We went through a couple sketches to get the right look at the beginning and ended up with this happy skull chomping after a piece fo pinball candy.

Unlimited Off-Road
Description:
I was fortunate recently to work with Unlimited Off-Road, a huge jeep, and off-roading event, to design their new logo for their Spring event in Texas. They liked my beach and Tiki graphics, and we chose to create a rocky tropical island in the shape of a jeep emerging from the waters.

Adam Bravery
Description:
Character designs I illustrated to fit into an existing library of art for an animated series pitch called Adam Bravery. It was fun and challenging to work with a simpler, flatter coloring and lineart style (to make it easier to animate). Can’t wait to see these characters come to life!

Honey Badger illustration I created for an archery club in Australia called the “Van Diemen Archers.” If you don’t like this, Honey Badger don’t care.
Character illustration of a gang of thugs wielding weapons I illustrated in Clip Studio Paint.

Fun illustration I created of Goofy as a tough guy, illustrated for a group in Norway. It was fun coming up with things to tattoo on his muscles.

Had a lot of fun drawing this tribute to some of my favorite cartoon characters growing up: Popeye, Stimpy, Homer, Beavis, and Bugs. I wanted to draw them all melting together and loose. I drew this on paper with pencil, scanned it in, and colored it in Clip Studio Paint – completely skipping the ink stage. Really happy with the result.

Homage fanart illustration I created in Clip Studio Paint of the main character from the Assassin’s Creed games. I’ve never actually played any of the games, but I’ve always been a big fan of the character and costume design in these games.

Character drawing I created of a gang members looking tough and brandishing weapons on the street. Trying to work on a style to draw people in that still captures some attitude and wackiness.

#Festival #poster I designed for Squatchfest this Saturday in Kane, PA featuring the most famous #Sasquatch #BigFoot himself coming out of hiding and playing with a lot of great bands. Had a ton of fun with this – great to give back to my once temporary home-town.⠀
Seed-grower and packager Death Row Seeds hired me to illustrate this logo design for their website and packaging, of a friendly escaped convict proudly showing off his horticulture skills.
Vinyl wrapped zombie helmet I illustrated for Blaze Artworks’ new line of monster themed motorcycle helmets.
It was a fun challenge to try to figure out how to illustrate something in two dimensions that would ultimately wrap around a spherical 3D object. The client was kind enough to send me a helmet that I was able to physically trace and photograph to create a template, using some tricks I learned at my first professional art job at XGX Racing more than a decade ago. Thrilled with how this turned out!

Hogan’s Beach Shop
Description:
Super humbling to be able to work for one of my childhood heroes, Hulk Hogan. He owns a beach shop down in Florida, and liked my colorful beach graphics. We created a few designs for his shop that involves their Shark mascot punking the Hulkster in different ways. Very easy guy to work with, and tons of fun, BROTHER!

Fumeine
Description:
Pleasure to work with this vaping company in the UK, to design their new labels for a line of vaping ejuice. I thought it would be cool to create this slightly creepy monk character – graphics were set up to fit both wide and tall labels, leaving room for a gazillion disclaimers and warning text that is required in that area.
Seed cultivator Hammerhead Genetics hired me recently to design a new logo and mascot for their marijuana seed growing business.
We experimented with a few different looks and poses for the shark, and landed on this happier fella you see here.
I illustrated the marketing poster and t-shirt for this 50’s inspired diner called Anne’s Family Diner, owned and operated by a husband and wife team whose likenesses are illustrated here.
They were a pleasure to work with, and were really happy with how it turned out.
New line of e-juice from Adrenaline Vapors that I illustrated the labels for, featuring a has-been 80’s headbanger screaming into his microphone and dropping his gut.
When we were finished, I provided the labels in a variety of different colors to be used for each flavor in the line.
Logo design I created for the vaping company Honey B Vapors of a chill honey bee vaping (because bees hate smoke) on his honeycomb throne.
Tribute illustration I created to the heavy metal legends Lemmy, Cliff Burton, Ronnie James Dio, and Bon Scott carved into Mount Rushmore (mount Rockmore because we’re clever) for Listenable Records new sampler album cover.
Custom T-Shirt illustration I created for the Hot Rod Power Tour Kansas City 2017.
Always a fun challenge to draw cars, which can be very hard to get right. I had to us a lot of reference photos for this one to get the details of the models just right (or close enough anyway).
Fun Tiki head logo design I created for a really cool company specializing in hand-carved solid wood jewelry displays.
T-shirt illustration I created for Great Lakes Graphics featuring a dive bar home to shady looking sharks, slutty mermaids, and deep-sea diving gorillas.
The design is black and white on the shirt until the wearer goes out into the sun, and the colors are revealed!
I had fun creating the characters from the watchmen for this Russ Logo. The design was for apparel and a vehicle wrap for the russefeiring tradition. Packaging design I created for the board game “Colliery Dominoes” featuring a fun cartoon miner I designed outside a cartoon mine.
Insane lab rat mascot I created for the cool people at Premium eJuice USA, LLC for their new rebranding campaign.
The design is inspired a bit by the classic Rat Fink character, only this time with science. Drawn in manga studio 5.
I was commissioned to design this poster for the new documentary about the Phyrst bar in State College, Pennsylvania by Blue White TV. The bar has a tremendous history, and it’s really great to be a part of it in a tiny way.
The client wanted a crazy 60’s color scheme to set the tone for the theme so I went with lots of yellows and purples. Awesome to be a part of this production!
Owner of the Heavenly brand resort hired me to create this t-shirt design for his ranch, illustrating his likeness and his dog chilling on the beach in a hammock.
I tried to render this one a little differently than my previous beach designs, using a softer pencil for the lineart instead of a thicker, chunkier ink brush and then doing more of the rendering in the coloring stage. I like the result!
Silly Trix parody I illustrated of our favorite cereal-obsessed rabbit enjoying a bowl of shatter, designed for a limited color silk-screen shirt, separated using halftones.
I was hired by a fabric pot manufacturer for growing plants to create a t-shirt for their conventions featuring this hipster bear character we came up with, holding one of their fabric pots. They wanted something that displayed their product in a way that people would want to wear, even if they weren’t familiar with the product. This was printed with direct-to-garment full-color printing. They were kind enough to send me a shirt, and it turned out great!
Young-adult fantasy book cover I illustrated for author Charon Dunn, illustrating a scene from the book where a school is attacked, and the main characters and mech-suited police officer react in horror.
Beer Pong is a big deal in Las Vegas, the showdown location of the greatest Beer Pong players who have ever lived and drank! I was hired to illustrate this epic poster and t-shirt for the event.
This was a really fun, trippy, and detailed illustration I created for Waz Shop of a pink dancing elephant and robot hornet for a line of all-over print apparel to be sold at festivals and concerts.
The client really let me explore and go a little nuts on this one, which is always a good time. We set this up at a huge size, so it could be printed on tapestries.

Easily one of my favorite projects ever! Official Alien illustration I created for the backglass of the new Limited Edition Pinball Machine licensed from 20th Century Fox and built by Heighway Pinball.
We had to turn this around on a super quick deadline, racing to release the artwork on Alien Day in 2017. The illustration is huge – twenty eight inches square, so I had to pump a ton of detail in every nook and cranny. HR Giger, the genius behind the Alien creature concept, was one of my very first artistic inspirations when I was a kid, so it was a great compliment to be able to play around in his shadow a little.
Album cover I illustrated for Penny One, inspired by a sort of pulp graphic comic book style that was pretty new for me.
I really enjoyed working with Alex (whose likeness is at the computer mixing) – always fun to work with other creatives.
